Gaastra Sails have been an established leader in windsurfing sail history since 1980. With over 35 years of windsurfing sail development and design, Gaastra's philosophy has always been to provide functional equipment of the highest quality. After 34 years they've revised their logo to a new and modern GA branding in tribute to globalization and international flair.

Gaastra was established in 1897, building sailboat sails. Entering the windsurfing market some 83 years later – they recognized the progression of sail powered crafts and Gaasta Windsurfing brand was born in 1980. Gaastra Sails has now been pioneering many areas of windsurfing designs for 35 years. The first Camber Inducers, applied aerospace sail testing, speed sailing designs and World Champion sail designs are many of 1980's break-throughs that are still instrumental in sail designs some 35 years later. From the brands early windsurfing days Big names joined the brand and led the sports pioneering evolution including; Robby Naish, Pete Cabrinha, Neven Sayre, Pascal Maka, Robert Teriitehau, Matt and Kevin Pritchard and many more. With the 2015 team of designers and pro riders Gaastra continues to be a force in sail development and winning results in all disciplines of the sport.
