Starboard Rio 2024 Long tail – The ultimate entry-level and School board – durable and easy!
For 2024 – Starboard has targeted the Rio Long tail model in Rhino construction as a price point board for mass appeal for learning to windsurf. It’s construction is great for Schools, camps and family situations where durability and ease of learning along with progressive skill development is the focus. Available in 3 primary sizes; Small, Medium and Large. It’s an affordable entry level board designed to help you learn how and excel in your windsurfing skills. Loaded with features and made rhino tough. The Rio Longtail has sleek outlines and offers exceptional upwind drive, ensuring a successful first day on the water. Its extended waterline, combined with Long Tail Technology, delivers effortless gliding and early planing. Once you’re up and planing, the board delivers an exhilarating and liberating experience as you ride the contoured aft deck, where the cutaways maximize your planing pleasure, responsive ride and intuitive jibe. Wider nose, long cutaways, optimized profile and efficient rocker line all improve your ride thanks to more glide, stability, traction and ease of planing.
It features a contoured deck shape for ease of footstrap use. It has a long tail design – targeting passive planing experiences coupled with it’s Batwing wide tail shape to help with achieving earlier planing and upwind drive. Durable ABS outer skin with double wrap on the rails – for added toughness.

Rhino Construction Technology. THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER ABS SKIN = The entire board is wrapped in a thick, tough thermoplastic polymer ABS skin (not to be confused with ASA), with a double wrap around the rails.

Targets - Beginners and Accessible Performance
RRD Easy Ride Y27 rig package is about easy, accessible and compact performance. It targets new comers and delivers quality, easy handling, ease of rigging and is very light weight. Dacron colored sail materials with large x-ply window aid strength and performance. All sizes now feature a low boom cut-out and a low eyelet to fit a double boom system for teaching kids on the fly. Beautiful new sail colorway and the sail is nicely packaged with everything you need to have fun and successful windsurfing experiences. Excellent value and performance for new windsurfers.
Rig components include: 2-pc Epoxy RDM mast (340-415cm), Easy Ride T-8 AL Boom w/rdm only fbe (140-190/26mm =4.5,5.0, 160-210/29mm = 5.5, 6.0), Fixed EP Mast Base Extension, 1-bolt EP mechanical mast foot, Bungee uphaul, ropes and carrying case.

RRD EVO X Y27 Rig:
Targets- Intermediates or Entry level looking for advanced performance
This complete rig package is loaded with features, performance and value! RRD designed this sail to be a perfect freeride all-rounder. It features a large soft luff panel that gives it plenty of highly controllable power, lifting you onto the plane effortlessly and remaining controllable as the wind increases. Everything about the Evolution is designed for ease of use, so you can simple hook in and enjoy the ride. Performance Construction for the optimum strength to weight ratio.
Rig components include: GT 60% carbon SDM 2-pc 430 mast, RRD T-9 160-220 Alloy monocoque adjustable clamp-on boom, Chinook EP SDM Extension Medium and L (6.5), Aeron 1-bolt EP Tendon base, Dakine Uphaul.

Ezzy Legacy Rig:
Targets– Intermediate to Advanced skills “Performance no-cam freeride sail”
The Legacy is an excellent sail for freeriding, bump-n-jump and freewave use. Full x-ply sail cloth construction with no-monofilm. It's durable and packs a lot of punch for the dollar. Excellent wind range and loaded with features, this economical priced Ezzy sail is ideal for those who expect Ezzy's reputation, build quality and performance. The difference is David eliminates some of the extra bells and whistles of his premier line while still delivering sublime performance and durability. The Small sizes favor bump-n-jump and wave sailing while the larger sizes target freeride performance. The Legacy is a great performance and value sail for the price!
Rig components include; Aeron HD T9 AL 160-220 boom, GT CC 60% carbon RDM 2-pc mast (Size: 400 w/4.7-5.2, 430 w/ 5.5-6.5, 460 w/ 7.5), Aeron 1-bolt EP mast base, Aeron Medium RDM AL EP extension and a bungee uphaul.
