Chinook 1-bolt Mechanical Base - US Cup
The mechanical base allows you to attach the rig to your board without turning the board on its side because the mechanical UJ allows unrestricted 90 degree bending without resistance. Versus rubber and Tendon type UJ that resisted bending without rig weight load. The 1-bolt base can be loosened for quick mast box adjustments even in the water. 1-bolt design offers a little more fore/aft adjustment in the mast track than the 2-bolt version. Mechanical UJ works great with wider hard boards, inflatable windsurf, windsup boards and situations where you need to attch your rig to your board in the water.
