The BOARD:

This offering from Tahe (formerly Bic) – the Techno Foil 130 was developed to provide a one board solution for both traditional freeride use and foil-boarding and designed to do both at a high level. The 130 size features short length at 230 cm and 81.5 cm width that is carried well into the tail area. The rocker line smoothes out the chop in rough water to aid control, thin rails facilitate smooth jibing and control when foiling, take off and planing is easy with its wide and powerful tail shape, stability is excellent for uphauling especially when foiling, tucked rails in the nose area of hull also helps with control during splash-downs when foiling and jibing. The foilbox Foil 130 is very capable in freeride mode, where it targets use in winds up to 25 mph and has been clocked via GPS to speeds of up to 38 mph. The wide shape also helps its upwind capabilities in both uses. Windfoil / Deep Tuttle system includes a nice freeriding fin (foil not included – additional).
The Wind Foil 130 is available in two construction types Ace-Tec and Pro. The Ace-Tec construction will provide exceptional strength to weight ratios – ideal for learning foiling and freeriding. The Pro model with be lighter weight and stiffer construction wise to maximize performance range.

The FOIL:

The new aluminium/G10/carbon composite foil that has been developed by Zeeko, a French company specializing in foils. The foil we selected was chosen for its performance at different speeds, its stability, its build-quality, and its ability to stand up to intensive use. The mast and fuselage are made from aluminum for high resistance and value for money. The G10 front wing gives a great combination of strength and performance.

This component gets a lot of knocks and its flat profile helps it stay in good condition even when stood on a rough slipway or jetty and makes it easy to repair. The rear stabilizer is made of carbon and is raised up from the fuselage, making it less susceptible to damage. A high performance foil which is also easy to use and robust. It’s also the official foil of the Techno Foil 130 class.
